BISS Product Development is a small, creative, and fun product development company located in the beautiful Lake Norman area, just 30 miles north of Charlotte, NC. We prosper on creating new, innovative and patented products for our two brands, Risk Racing and STKR Concepts. Risk Racing is a powersports company with a focus on motocross, while STKR Concepts is a consumer products company with a focus on lighting, flashlights, work lights and some garage products.
At BISS we take our own product ideas from an initial sketch through to 2D & 3D designs, prototypes, tooling, production, and eventually to the store shelves. Our designers are deeply involved with every step of the process, including helping to create the marketing and promotional materials that support the products we design.
It is essential that the right candidate possess an ability to handle multiple projects at the same time and have skill in all aspects of design (brainstorm inventive ideas / sketch / 2D / 3D / prototyping, etc).
THE DETAILS OF THE JOB
This position will have the opportunity to work on “all things design” and will utilize their creativity and skills every step of the way. This includes product design, packaging design, collaboration with graphics design and marketing department projects. With our brands, we dabble in a wide variety of product types, materials, manufacturing processes, and even soft goods. WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR
A bachelor’s degree in industrial design and have at least 0-4 years of professional experience in product design.
Ability to develop original ideas, as well as ideas passed down from management, and take them from concept to reality.
Exceptional design skill and the ability to communicate form through sketch, 2D, and 3D modeling.
Ability to design more than “artistic blue-sky concepts”. We are dealing in reality, and producing real products. The candidate must have a comprehensive understanding of the design process as well as the ability to design for various manufacturing and production processes, materials, etc.
Strong mechanical inclination, sense of fashion and current trends.
Experience in Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, and 3-D modeling and rendering (Alias, Rhino, Solid Works, Keyshot, etc.)
Must be able totake ownership and responsibility for various projects, and have the ability to deliver within given deadlines and budgets.
Must be able to create visually stunning product presentations that effectively communicate the fine details and marketable features of the product.
Our two brands fall into the “tool” and “powersports” markets. An interest in those industries is a plus!
